Let's break down
the fundamentals
What do we do?
Peertivity trains students to become Servant Leaders (SLs) through the AIM model—Appreciate, Investigate, Motivate—supporting their peers in developing real-world skills, motivation, and confidence. Sessions are led on campus by students, for students, with guidance from a trained liaison and support from our central team. It’s peer-powered growth with a purpose.
How do we do that?
We use the AIM cycle—Appreciate, Investigate, Motivate—to train Peer Educators in the art of questioning, scaffolding, and leading with empathy. Grounded in over 20 years of research and field-tested in public schools, AIM equips students to guide their peers with strategies rooted in Servant Leadership, positive youth development, and evidence-based learning science.
What is Servant Leadership?
Servant Leadership is the practice of helping others grow by leading with empathy, responsibility, and trust. At Peertivity, students trained as Servant Leaders (SLs) learn to support their peers not through authority, but through listening, questioning, and shared purpose. These are coachable, lifelong skills that empower young people to guide others while developing their own voice and confidence.
